Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making denvanconsulting.com accessible to all users, and how to reach us with accessibility concerns.

Denvan Consulting is committed to ensuring that denvanconsulting.com is accessible to people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a baseline standard.

Our Commitment

We work to ensure that this website meets the following accessibility standards where possible:

  • Perceivable: Content is presented in ways that can be perceived by all users. Images include descriptive alt text. Color is not the only means of conveying information. Text maintains sufficient contrast ratios against background colors.
  • Operable: All navigation and interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. No content requires timing-based interaction. Navigation is consistent and predictable across pages.
  • Understandable: Page language is declared in HTML. Navigation behaves consistently. Form fields include visible labels. Error messages are descriptive.
  • Robust: HTML is valid and well-structured. ARIA attributes are used where appropriate. Content is compatible with current assistive technologies.

Specific Measures Taken

Keyboard Navigation

All navigation menus, buttons, links, and form fields are reachable and operable via keyboard. The hamburger menu and dropdown navigation are keyboard-accessible. A scroll-progress bar and back-to-top button are present but do not impede keyboard navigation.

Color and Contrast

Primary text is rendered in dark navy (#0d1b3e) against white or light gray backgrounds. Gold accent text (#c9a84c) is used for decorative headings, not as the sole indicator of meaning. We have reviewed primary content areas for WCAG AA contrast compliance (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text).

Images

All images include descriptive alt attributes. Decorative images use empty alt attributes (alt="") so screen readers skip them. Logo images include the company name as alt text.

Semantic HTML

Page content uses proper semantic elements including <nav>, <main>, <section>, <footer>, and heading hierarchy (h1 through h3) to support screen reader navigation.

Forms

Contact form fields include placeholder text and aria-label attributes. The form submission provides visible status feedback (spinner, success/error state) that is also reflected in button text for screen reader users.

Motion

The hero parallax scroll effect respects the prefers-reduced-motion media query and is disabled for users who have indicated this preference in their operating system settings. Scroll-reveal animations use opacity and transform only, with no sudden or disorienting motion.

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas where accessibility may not yet be fully achieved:

  • Dropdown navigation focus trap: When a dropdown is open, focus is not explicitly trapped within the menu. Screen reader users can still navigate the dropdown items, but the experience may be suboptimal on some screen reader and browser combinations.
  • Third-party fonts and icons: Font Awesome icons used throughout the site are decorative and marked with aria-hidden where they accompany text labels. Icons used standalone (e.g., social links) include accessible link text.
  • Video content: If video content is added to the site in the future, captions and transcripts will be provided.
