Strategy before
implementation.

Major cloud decisions deserve rigor before commitment. We assess your current environment, build the business case, and produce a phased roadmap your leadership team can act on with confidence.

Talk to a Strategist

Technology decisions made without a business case tend to get revisited, expensively.

Most cloud strategy mistakes are not technical. They're decisions made under time pressure, without a clear picture of cost, risk, and opportunity, that get revisited a year later at a much higher price.

Denvan's strategy advisory work exists to prevent that. Before we recommend anything, we invest in genuinely understanding your business model, technical environment, and the specific decision your leadership team is trying to make.

The output is not a slide deck full of generic best practices. It's a specific, defensible roadmap with a modeled business case, sequenced by risk and dependency, that your team can execute against.

Strategy advisory fits best before a major decision, not after.

  • Leadership teams evaluating a major cloud investment or platform change
  • Organizations that have grown their AWS footprint without a coherent architecture strategy
  • Companies preparing a board-level or investor-facing technology business case
  • Engineering leaders who want an independent, vendor-neutral assessment before committing
  • Organizations weighing a migration, consolidation, or significant modernization initiative
  • Teams that need a second opinion on a recommendation already on the table

Strategy work maps to the first three phases of our methodology.

A typical strategy advisory engagement runs the first three phases of our six-phase methodology: an initial consultation, a two to three week assessment and analysis period, and a strategy presentation to your leadership team with the business case and phased roadmap.

From there, you decide whether Denvan continues into implementation, your internal team executes the roadmap directly, or you use it to evaluate other vendors. We are platform-independent in our advice and have no incentive to push implementation you don't need.

Common questions.

Strategy advisory is the assessment, business case, and roadmap: it answers what to do and why. Implementation is the execution of that plan. Many clients engage us for strategy first and decide separately whether Denvan, their internal team, or another vendor executes it.

Yes. Denvan is AWS-focused, but we have no financial incentive to recommend a specific AWS service or third-party product over another. Our only incentive is producing a strategy that actually works for your situation.

At minimum, the executive stakeholder who owns the decision and the technical leader who understands the current environment. We structure the discovery consultation around whoever can speak to both the business objective and the technical reality.

Begin with a conversation, not a commitment.

Our initial consultation is free, confidential, and structured around your questions, not our sales process.
